My granddaughter Tabitha came home from school yesterday without her planner. A school planner is a book that they give to every student at the beginning of the school year. It is basically a calendar where they write down their homework assignments. The teachers intial it everyday and the parents are to do the same. I think they are a big waste. It seems that someone stole Tabitha's planner. They were told to leave their stuff in the classroom and were made to go somewhere else in the school. When they returned to the classroom her planner was gone. The brilliant teacher "let" her go to her locker to see if it was in there. ???? How did it magically get from classroom to locker??? I wasn't aware that this was wizards and witches school. If you "lose" your planner they make you pay $5.00 for a replacement. My daughter stopped at the school this morning with the $5.00. The lady in the office told Tabitha to hang on to the $5.00 and ask each teacher today if they had found her planner. If not then at the end of the day she could turn in the $5.00 for a replacement. My problem is why should my daughter be made to pay for a replacement when my granddaughter didn't lose it. She left it where she was told to by a teacher. I feel that making her buy a replacement is saying that it is her fault that it is gone. This matter has my hair burning up, that is what is left of said hair after pulling it out for days.....
Making her buy a replacement IS saying it is her fault it is gone. So is "hang on to the $5 and ask every teacher if they had found it". That's like saying they think she lost it. If the kids are going to go somewhere else in the school, they should have the opportunity to put their stuff in their LOCKers. That is why they are called lockers. They lock. Good grief!!
ReplyDeleteGive Tabitha a hug for me and tell her I had something ripped off from me when I was in about her grade.
Thanks for your comment, I am glad I am not the only one that thinks this way....I shall give her hug and tell her for sure....I also had something ripped off from me around that age....my desserts out of my sack lunches for several days...I told the teacher, who caught the girl and made her return my dessert to me in front of the whole lunchroom.
DeleteSome kid ripped off her planner so he/she wouldn't have to cough up 5 bucks. The school made itself responsible for the 5 dollar planner the minute the kids were instructed to leave their stuff where it was. If anything Tabatha is owed an appology for having had to leave her stuff 'unguarded'. Can you tell I hated school? I had fun telling some snippy high school teacher too bad I pay your salary lady, leave me alone, when she jumped me for smoking a demon cigarette on campus, away from everyone else and out of sight. The bitch must have followed me.
ReplyDeleteAh yes there are still people on this planet we call Earth that think like me.... I was beginning to think I was on another planet :) :)
DeleteMy goodness. She should be able to lock her things up. I don't think that's right. I hope they found it. Hugs
